Finding The Secret
Exploring life through poetry
The Poet
When I was a boy I enjoyed writing limericks and rhymes. I wrote many limericks about the great outdoors, but writing poetry wasn’t even a hobby yet, just something I did on occasion. In June of 2001, at the age of 19, like so many young people, I was looking for an identity. It was at that time I wrote a real poem. I found it a way I could really express myself, and I wrote several more poems that month. Soon poetry became something more than a hobby—it was a passion. Since then I’ve written hundreds of poems, and have had several poems published. Poetry has become an important part of what I am, and how I express myself.
The Seeker
As a young man I sought to understand what the purpose of life is. It became obvious that true meaning to life can’t be found in my own desires, and so I turned to the Creator. I came to understand that we can only have true purpose to our lives when we seek for fulfillment not in ourselves, but in giving ourselves for others. This is the great example that Jesus set before us that He calls us to follow to find the abundant life that He gives. Will you choose to follow Him, or get trapped in your own desires?
